News October 2002

I decided to send the wheel studs and nuts back to peter Lloyd rallying as they weren't long enough and to be honest immensely over priced. I can buy the same thing from other sources at less then half the price. Unluckily I am getting a credit note from them for the parts but I should be able to get a new AFFF hand held extinguisher and a in dash adjuster for the bias pedal box.
Unfortunately we have been unable to get the 4 pots we bought to fit our hubs and discs. If we ran 260mm discs we would have had to use a spacer bracket between the hub mountings and the caliper brackets. This would then be a weak point on the car and we are not willing to take the risk. We have been in touch with a friend who specializes in building awesome brakes and he will put something together for us that will fit behind either a 13 or 14 inch wheel.
I am currently cleaning, overhauling and painting all the suspension components to get them ready to fit onto the new shell when its ready.
Im still waiting for the wheel arch kit to arrive but Nick at Rally nuts has guaranteed that they will be with us by the end of the week.

The Escort Group 4 arches have now gone back to Rally Nuts, we have now ordered a set made by MC Rallying that are made for the Mk1 Fiesta and should fit nicely. They aren't exactly what I wanted to fit to the car but it looks like the easiest and only option we currently have. The new arches should hopefully arrive in the next few days.
A price plan is currently being worked on so we know approximately how much the build will cost us. Im not too happy as it has gone well over £1000 and rising all of the time. (Who said clubman Motorsport can be affordable)
We are still on the look out for sponsors so if you have a business and would like to advertise on the car just send me an e-mail and let me know. Bear in mind we are not after large amounts of money or parts every little bit helps.

Unfortunately we are unable to make the Group 4 escort arches fit the Fiesta so a proper set of arches will need to be obtained. Cheers to nick from Rally Nuts who is on the hunt for the ones I want.
We placed and order from Peter Lloyd Rallying for some Wheel Studs, Nuts, Spacers and new engine mounts. I have to say that since Peter sold the company earlier in the year prices have gone up somewhat, how about an extra £1.25 per wheel nut. That's now £2.75 per nut instead of £1.50 each. I am sorry to say that my money will be going elsewhere in the future but Peter Lloyd used to do a sterling job and gave very good service in the past.

The old car is now completely dismantled and is waiting to be collected by the Council to be destroyed.
Its amazing how long it takes to build a rally car and yet within 2 days it can be completely taken apart.

We started to dismantle the old car today, I felt very sad that after all of the work we had put into re-building the car and carrying out all of the modifications to her that it finally came down to just taking her apart bit by bit. All the interior has been taken out as well as the roll cage, luckily its not bent and we can use it in the next car.
Early next week we will take the engine, gearbox and the suspension off the car and arrange for her to be taken away for disposal.
